Bayern Munich – despite some bureaucratic snags – were able to get Jonah Kusi-Asare’s loan to Fulham over the line last night. The 18-year-old heads to Craven Cottage on a one-year-loan-deal that does contain a purchase option. Kicker and others report that the Bundesliga record champions have secured a buyback clause as well in the event that the London-based-outfit pulls the purchase clause.

Kusi-Asare rose to prominence with the German giants after turning in an excellent training camp this summer. The loan out to Fulham was preceded by a contract extension for the teenage talent; one that enabled the Swedish international to receive a pay raise in addition to ensuring that all the clauses could be built into the new working papers.

“Jonah has developed very well with us over the past year-and-a-half,” Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund noted in a club statement. “He has outstanding potential and will now gain further valuable experience at the highest European level. We will closely monitor his progress and are convinced that he will take the next steps in his development at Fulham.”
