Cottagers hold an option to buy on Swedish prospect

Fulham have announced the signing of 18-year-old forward Jonah Kusi-Asare on loan from Bayern Munich.

The club hold the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Kusi-Asare, who made his Bundesliga debut in April, becomes Fulham’s third Deadline Day signing.

The Swedish youth international is currently on duty with the country’s Under-21 squad despite only turning 18 in July.

At six feet five inches, Kusi-Asare is an imposing presence but is just as comfortable with the ball at his feet.

The striker is expected to be a permanent member of the first team squad this season.

“I am really excited to join Fulham. It is a fantastic club with great supporters, and I can’t wait to get started, work with my teammates, and give everything for the club,” Kusi-Asare said.

Fulham CEO Tony Khan added: “I am thrilled to welcome Jonah Kusi-Asare to Fulham. He is a talented young striker, we are excited that he is joining our team on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich, and we are very happy that this deal includes an option to bring Jonah in on a permanent transfer.”

Kusi-Asare became the youngest player to play in the Swedish top flight when he featured for AIK shortly after his 16th birthday in 2023.

The youngster will add depth to Fulham’s frontline, adding to the arrivals of Kevin and Samuel Chukwueze, who also completed Deadline Day moves to west London.

Fulham have endured a difficult summer and were busy right up until Monday’s deadline trying to secure deals.

Silva will be glad to have three new players to bolster his attacking ranks, though there will be disappointment that the club were unable to get a deal over the line for Chelsea winger Tyrique George after agreeing a £22million fee for the forward.
