After nearly three years at Annecy Yohan Demoncy (29) will enter into a new project in Ligue 2 next season. L’Équipe reported on Tuesday that the French midfielder would be moving to the champagne region, joining Stade de Reims on a two-year contract.

Demoncy is coming off a Ligue 2 campaign in which he scored seven goals and registered five assists domestically. Despite making the Coupe de France final last season Reims were relegated to Ligue 2, losing their playoff tie with FC Metz, though that may be voided if the Olympique Lyonnais sanctions are upheld.

The 29-year-old, who trained at the Paris Saint-Germain academy, was set to become a free agent on June 30th. Last season, Annecy finished sixth in the Ligue 2 table, four points below the promotional playoff line. Demoncy made 30 appearances for Paris FC in Ligue 2, a side that will be moving into the top flight next season.

He’s expected to be just one of the many new faces for Les Rouges et Blancs next season. Last week, the club named Karel Garaerts as their new manager.
