Former Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is open to joining Werder Bremen, according to Sky Sport reporter Florian Plettenberg.
Positive talks have taken place between the Bundesliga giants and his management.
SportBild journalist Christian Falk claims it is already a ‘done deal’, so an official announcement could be on the cards.
The 28-year-old struggled for game time in his last season at Anfield, making just 13 appearances across all competitions.
Despite this, he is not short of suitors and would be plying his trade in the German top flight next term.
Bremen finished 13th this term after returning to the Bundesliga in 2021.
They are looking to continue rebuilding their squad, and Keita would be a perfect fit.
The four-time Bundesliga winners and seven-time runners-up are looking to become a force to be reckoned with once again in Germany.
Their last title came in 2004 and the most recent of their six DFB-Pokal trophies came in 2009.
They conceded 64 league goals and scored 51 this term, and Keita can help make them better in the middle of the park.
Despite scoring just 11 goals in 129 games for the Reds, the Guinea international has an eye for goal.
He bagged 37 goals in 152 games across his spells with Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig.
Keita has scored 12 goals in 52 international appearances and can produce the goods in the final third.
Bremen need more goals going forward, and such a quality midfielder will come in handy.
