AC Milan have been linked with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone in recent days and their sporting director has made a revelation.

It appears that Milan have encountered difficulties in signing Youssouf Fofana from Monaco. His contract runs out in 11 months but the Ligue 1 side want more than what the Rossoneri have been willing to offer so far, and thus alternatives are being looked into.

The name of Manu Kone has emerged again, a midfielder who play either in a double pivot or as a mezzala, possessing the physical presence the management are looking for but also technical quality too. He has played in all the youth teams with France and started both of the games at the Olympics.

As MilanNews report, Monchengladbach’s sporting director Roland Virkus officially confirmed today that Koné’s intention is to be sold, as he told Kicker: “Manu Koné told us quite early on that he wanted to leave the club, but there is no update.”

The 23-year-old midfielder is on Milan’s radar and has been for some time, given that they tried to sign him from Toulouse in 2021 before the Frenchman chose to move to Germany. It is believed that the German club’s asking price starts at €20m.
