According to Foot Mercato journalist Sébastien Denis, in order to sign Victor Osimhen (26), Manchester United would be forced to sell either Marcus Rashford (27)or Bruno Fernandes (30) during the summer transfer window. This is because the Premier League club are currently unable to afford the Napoli striker’s €12m annual salary.

Despite Manchester United’s interest in the Nigerian international forward, Osimhen’s most likely destination is Saudi Arabia. The 26-year-old has agreed personal terms with Al-Hilal on a three-year deal, which would see him earn an eyewatering €40m annual salary.

The Saudi Pro League club want to complete a deal with Napoli quickly. Foot Mercato understands that Al-Hilal are set to open talks with Serie A champions, so a transfer can be sealed before the start of the FIFA Club World Cup on the 15th of June. As a result, a potential deal which would see Osimhen playing at Old Trafford next season would appear unlikely.
