Barcelona make fresh contact over deal for Man United star | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona recently touched base with those closest to Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, over the possibility of a joining of forces this summer.

That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who has this week provided a fresh insight into the situation.

The name of attacker Rashford of course took its place front and centre in the headlines at the aforementioned Barcelona this past January.

As much came after the winger – owing to his playing characteristics and availability on loan – was identified as the ideal addition to Hansi Flick’s squad.

In the end, no such transfer was forthcoming, with Rashford having gone on to pen terms with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.

With the Claret and Blue having since made the call not to make his signing a permanent one, however, links with Barcelona have resurfaced.

The Blaugrana are understood to consider Rashford the perfect alternative to Liverpool standout Luis Díaz in their search for reinforcements out wide.

So much so that, as alluded to above, contacts were recently renewed with the player’s entourage.

As per a report from the aforementioned Matteo Moretto:

‘Barcelona have had recent contacts regarding Marcus Rashford. He’s a player that both Deco and Hansi Flick really like, and he already had opportunities to wear the Barça shirt in January. It’s a track that’s still alive.’
