Tottenham have promised a fresh bid for Savinho in the coming days after they saw their latest proposal for the player rejected by Manchester City.

Savinho, 21, is reportedly unsure of his future at the Etihad Stadium amidst a period of transition for the Blues, who recorded their lowest points tally (71) in a Premier League campaign under Guardiola last season.

Hugo Viana has spearheaded the acquisition of six new signings following his appointment as sporting director this summer, with Rayan Cherki signed from Lyon to bolster an attack that was overly reliant on Erling Haaland to deliver the goods last term.

City signed Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt in January to improve their wide attacking options, with the 26-year-old impressing in his first six months at the Etihad Stadium, with eight goals and three assists to his name in the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.

Manchester City sold Julian Alvarez in a club-record £82 million sale last summer and Haaland has since shouldered an overwhelming majority of the goalscoring responsibility. Goals from midfield also dried up in what was a sobering 2024-25 season for Guardiola and co.

However, Viana has led a significant summer overhaul and despite Jack Grealish leaving on loan to join Everton, Savinho has been left uncertain of his prospects at Manchester City despite amassing over 3,000 senior minutes in his debut campaign in England.

The Brazilian forward has impressed with his pace, ability on the ball and crossing but as is also the case with Jeremy Doku, the jury is out on his end product – a major criticism of Manchester City’s wingers and a concern that was alleviated following the signing of Marmoush in January.

There are three weeks left in the transfer window and as Manchester City prepare for Saturday’s Premier League opener away at Wolves, Savinho has attracted strong interest from Tottenham following Son Heung-Min’s move to the United States.

According to new information from Brazilian journalist Cahê Mota, Manchester City rejected a €70 million bid for Savinho from Tottenham earlier this week, with the player’s agents having travelled to England in recent days to conduct negotiations around a move.

It is detailed that the London club has also promised that a new offer will be formalised soon, and while a negotiation is seen as complicated due to the high sums involved, all parties view the move positively.

Sources at the Etihad Stadium maintain that Manchester City do not wish to sell Savinho and consider the young attacker part of their plans for this season, though that could change should the Brazilian express a desire to move.

City value Savinho north of £50 million and should Tottenham agree a deal for the forward, Manchester City will turn their attention to Real Madrid star Rodrgyo in what could be one of the best signing the club have made since Haaland in 2022.
