The Man Utd defender has been sidelined since the beginning of December
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim says Luke Shaw has a small issue amid reports of a fresh setback.
There had been conflicting reports around Shaw this week with one suggestion that he would be out of action for another month, whilst others claimed he would be back in full training next week.
This comes just as Man Utd have confirmed Lisandro Martinez suffered an injury to his cruciate ligament during the 2-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend.
It leaves Amorim short of natural left-sided central defenders ahead of some huge games for United in the six weeks as they face the likes of Tottenham, Everton and Arsenal.
Speaking before his side’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester City, Amorim admitted Martinez will be out long-term and delivered an update on Shaw.
He said: “Licha is a difficult situation, he’s going to be out for a while, we don’t know the extent of the injury, but it’s going to take time.
“Luke has one small issue in the different area from the last injury, so we try to be careful with Luke."

Shaw has only made three appearances so far this season after suffering a fresh setback at the beginning of December having only returned from a lengthy lay-off two weeks prior.
Though it was described as a “small” setback at the time, the left-back has subsequently missed the last 16 games in a row across all competitions.
The England international was back in training prior to Man Utd's Europa League clash against FCSB, but he was not included in the squad that travelled to Romania.
