Amid the speculation surrounding Arne Slot's impending appointment as Liverpool manager, the Reds' links to Feyenoord took another turn during Liverpool's 2-2 draw against West Ham with the presence of a current player among the away fans at the London Stadium.

With Slot, the current manager at Feyenoord, reportedly on the brink of taking over from Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool this summer, attention is already shifting towards potential new arrivals at Anfield.

Naturally, the Reds have been linked with a number of Feyenoord players in the past week.

Among them are forward Santiago Gimenez, 23, who has been in prolific form this season, netting an impressive 21 goals, and versatile midfielder Quinten Timber, 22, who has contributed seven goals and eight assists.

However, the most concrete link between has been to defender Lutsharel Geertruida.

The 23-year-old, capable of playing as a full-back or centre-back, has been in impressive form, registering six goals and four assists in the Eredivisie this season.

Geertruida in the away end at West Ham

Unsurprisingly, links with the defender went into overdrive on Saturday when he posted an image on his personal Snapchat account (via Anfield Sector) to show that he was in the away end with the Liverpool supporters at the London Stadium.

With his deal set to expire in the summer of 2025, Geertruida's contract situation adds to the intrigue as Liverpool could potentially secure his services for a reduced fee, especially given Feyenoord's willingness to engage in negotiation in the past.

Last summer, the Rotterdam club were said to be holding out for a similar fee from German side RB Leipzig to the one paid by Arsenal to sign Jurrien Timber (an initial £36 million).

Now, with the allure of reuniting with his soon-to-be former boss Slot, his presence in the away end suggests Geertruida is more than tempted by the prospect of a new challenge in the Premier League.

It might not be long until we see the Dutchman wearing the all-red strip.
