Manchester United are eyeing Manuel Ugarte to strengthen their midfield this summer. However, the player’s agent is leaving the door open for other potential clubs to swoop in and land the player this summer.

Ugarte has also been linked to clubs other than Manchester United, such as AC Milan and Atlético Madrid. Manager Erik ten Hag views the PSG player as a potential replacement for Casemiro, who is expected to leave.

If the transfer happens, it would be the first signing under Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s new management. However, the player’s agent has mentioned Liverpool, Manchester United’s old rivals, as a possible future destination for the talented Ugarte.

“Liverpool? There is a lot of talk but it is not the only club, there are others,” Ugarte’s agent Jorge Chijane told O Jogo (h/t The Mirror). “There are many possibilities on the table. It’s almost certain that he won’t stay [at PSG], it’s sure he’ll leave. I believe the situation will be resolved.”

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Manchester United and PSG have discussed a potential move for Ugarte. Although several clubs are interested in the midfielder, PSG is willing to sell him this summer, and he’s expected to leave.

Ugarte is open to joining United even if they don’t qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season, though no formal bid has been made yet.
