FC Barcelona is interested in Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, but they might have to sacrifice to sell players to raise funds to secure the talented winger.

A recent report from CaughtOffside reveals that Williams has attracted attention from several top clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Barcelona, and PSG.

Recent reports from SPORT suggest that Athletic Club isn’t willing to negotiate with Barcelona, insisting on the termination clause. Although Barcelona considered paying the full amount in installments, Bilbao rejected the proposal.

Williams has a €58 million release clause, and on top of that, Barcelona would need to offer him a substantial salary, making the deal financially tricky for them.

As a result, SPORT reports that Barcelona are willing to put Ronald Araujo and Raphinha up for sale to fund a lucrative swoop for Williams. The Catalan side might have a Plan B in mind due to the tough challenge of securing the winger from Athletic Club.

According to El Chiringuito, if the Catalan side can’t land Williams this summer, they’ll go after Club Toluca’s Uruguayan standout, Maximiliano Araújo.
