Lautaro Martinez says Inter didn’t want to play after Edoardo Bove’s collapse on Sunday: ‘Raffaele Palladino thanked us.’
The Nerazzurri star spoke to reporters after Monday’s Gran Galà del Calcio, where he was named in the Serie A team of the season for 2023-24.
Lautaro was on the pitch on Sunday when Fiorentina midfielder Bove suddenly collapsed at minute 17 and was rushed to hospital.
“It was a terrible moment, but the important thing is that he feels well,” said Lautaro.

“I spoke to Fiorentina’s Argentinean players and coach Palladino, who thanked us for our actions. I told him the game was over for Inter as soon as it happened because Edoardo’s health was the most important thing. I send him a big hug from here. I hope he recovers soon.”
Bove remains at the Careggi hospital in Florence, where he will continue heart tests to determine the nature of his health issue.
The 22-year-old midfielder has one goal and four assists in 14 appearances across all competitions this season.
His Fiorentina side will play Empoli in a Coppa Italia Round of 16 tie tomorrow at the Stadio Franchi.
Italy coach Spalletti also spoke about Bove during the Gran Galà del Calcio last night, saying that he hopes the Italian midfielder returns to action soon.
Fiorentina-Inter will be rescheduled in the coming months and will resume at minute 17.
