Juventus tried to onboard Fikayo Tomori through a flash deal, but Milan changing their coach upset their apple cart, and David Hancko is back on top of their wish list. The Bianconeri wished to be quicker, but Benfica and Feyenoord are resisting, TuttoSport informs.
The Old Lady has struck an agreement in principle on a contract until 2029 with €2.5M wages. They are confident the Slovak will join in the summer if they can’t get him this month. They are ready to match his €25M price tag in general, but his side doesn’t want to lose him in January.
Juventus will try to exploit the fact that Feyenoord aren’t in contention in the Eredivisie to convince the counterparty to sell Hancko early. They are fifth with a 10-point disadvantage from first-placed PSV. The fact that the winter break lasts for two more weeks could work in the Serie A’s side favor.
On the other hand, De Stadionclub is in the running to advance in the Champions League. They are 18th, with a two-point gap from the elimination zone. They’ll face Bayern Munich and Lille in the final two matchdays. If they didn’t advance, it’d increase the Bianconeri’s chances of landing their target.
They seemed prepared to invest in Tomori, or perhaps they thought Milan would have eventually accepted an advantageous formula, so they should just divert the money to this deal since they appear completely sold on him. Still, they need help from the player himself. They can’t wait that long given their upcoming grueling gauntlet.
