Just a couple of things missing from Liverpool fans Alexander Isak ‘hostage’ claims

Liverpool fans are very keen on this Alexander Isak ‘hostage’ theme.

The idea that Newcastle United are the bad guys in all of this mess.

Liverpool fans demanding the ‘release’ of Alexander Isak.

Newcastle United holding the striker against his will and surely should be just doing the decent thing and let him go.

Then you have reality.

Liverpool fans missing a couple of key points.

What they are demanding, the ‘release’ of Alexander Isak, would only make some kind of sense if all other parties had done everything they could to try and get ‘the hostage’ released.

These small awkward points….

Liverpool making a formal offer of £150m to meet the Newcastle United valuation.

Alexander Isak putting in a written transfer request which would then mean that if a transfer did happen, he would be giving up a large chunk of ‘loyalty’ money that is normally paid when a player is sold.

The reality…

What has actually happened is one derisory formal bid of £110m made by Liverpool.

No written transfer request by Alexander Isak, willing to give up a large chunk of money to get his dream move done.

A load of nonsense in the media, partly fed to journalists by Liverpool themselves, partly just Liverpool loving journalists doing their thing.

That is it.

What needs to happen now?

With only 16 days to go until the transfer window closes, I can’t imagine Newcastle United now selling Alexander Isak in the time remaining. I would be amazed.

However, for Liverpool fans and their club (and Alexander Isak) to have any credibility with this poor Alexander Isak kept against his will narrative. Then the United striker and Liverpool need to exhaust all avenues before claiming this just isn’t fair.

Which means, Liverpool need to put a credible bid in AND Alexander Isak has to put the written transfer request in which shows his willingness to give a large chunk of money up.

Eleven weeks now since the summer transfer window opened and we are still waiting for either of these things to happen.
