Italy international Mateo Retegui bids farewell to Atalanta after completing a permanent €65m move to Al Qadsiah: ‘I will always carry you with me. I’ll miss you all.’

The latest Serie A top goal scorer has left Bergamo after just one season.

“Dear Atalanta fans,  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the affection you’ve shown me during this wonderful year,” the Italy striker wrote in his latest Instagram post.

“Thank you to the medical staff, the coaching staff, the kit managers, security team and everyone who helped us grow every day.

Marten de Roon and Charles De Ketelaere were among the Atalanta players who replied to Retegui’s social media post, thanking their former teammate and wishing him good luck for the new chapter of his career.

Retegui spent two seasons in Serie A, one with Genoa and the other with Atalanta, netting 32 times in 65 league games.
