Striker Mehdi Taremi will come into the Inter Milan starting eleven for tomorrow evening’s Serie A match against Venezia.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Simone Inzaghi could rest either Lautaro Martinez or Marcus Thuram,
Inter were only just in action a couple days ago. They took on Empoli in Serie A, running out 3-0 winners at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.
But there is little time to rest for the Nerazzurri in a particularly dense period of the fixture list.
Tomorrow, Inter will take to the pitch in Serie A once again. They host newly-promoted Venezia.
And while Venezia have struggled so far in their maiden campaign back in the top flight, that will only mean greater motivation for them to try and get a shock result.
Moreover, Venezia are coming into tomorrow’s match off the back of a win like Inter.
They got a big boost in their survival hopes as they beat Udinese in a 3-2 thriller in midweek.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will hardly be underestimating tomorrow’s match.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri boss will not name a “weak” team or completely rotate the starting eleven.
But there are also two more big matches just on the horizon to think about. Inter face Arsenal in the Champions League and Napoli in Serie A within the next week.
Therefore, Inzaghi will aim to give a few key players a rest.
In attack, one of captain Lautaro Martinez or France international Marcus Thuram will drop to the bench.
Iranian international striker Mehdi Taremi is a player Inter signed specifically to ensure that they are not over reliant on Martinez and Thuram.
Inzaghi will put his trust in Taremi, and give one of Martinez or Thuram a breather.
Meanwhile, the Gazzetta reports, Benjamin Pavard will return to the starting eleven in place of Yann Bisseck.
And in goal, Josep Martinez could get his first Inter start in place of Yann Sommer.
