Striker Mehdi Taremi has not been deterred by the disappointing start to his first season at Inter Milan.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, report that the 32-year-old is confident that he will find his best form.

Taremi’s time at Inter so far has not really lived up to expectations.

The Iranian international was a player the Nerazzurri made a significant effort to sign.

Taremi came in on a free transfer from Porto in the summer. But Inter’s interest in his signature had gone back much further.

Inter had signed Taremi not just to beef up the attacking depth, but also provide real competition for Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram in the starting roles.

So far, Taremi has been in every Champions League starting eleven. But in Serie A, he has largely only gotten some substitute appearances.

Apart from a goal from the penalty spot against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League, Taremi has yet to find the back of the net for Inter.

Naturally, that is a big worry.

Taremi is 32 years old, so the hope was always that he would hit the ground running.

Previously in his career, Taremi has always been prolific wherever he’s gone.

But playing for Inter has been a challenge unlike any other the Iranian has faced.

And Tuttosport report that behind the scenes there has been a process of adjustment for Taremi. This has included learning Italian so he can better fit into the team in training.

Taremi has had to be patient. But he has not lost his confidence that he can find his best form in the coming weeks.
