Real Madrid will be back in action tomorrow night as they get set to take on RCD Espanyol in La Liga, hoping to put pressure on leaders Barcelona.

Carlo Ancelotti & co. will once again be without the services of David Alaba, Dani Ceballos, Brahim Diaz, and Eduardo Camavinga for the game.

But there is some positive news with one of the unavailable players as Camavinga is edging close to a return.

Camavinga back working on the grass

Indeed, as reported by journalist Manu Amor, Camavinga is back training on the pitch today at Valdebebas, taking a big step towards his eventual return from injury.

The 21-year-old has been out of action since a day before the 2024/25 season started as he suffered a knee injury in training on the eve of the UEFA Super Cup clash against Atalanta.

While it was speculated that he would be out for a couple of months, Camavinga has worked hard and pushed the deadlines for his return.

The French international was seen training individually on the ground today while the rest of his teammates worked in a group preparing for tomorrow’s clash against Espanyol.

The idea is for Camavinga to join group training next week and be ready in time to face local rivals Atletico Madrid in the derby on September 29.

It would mean that the midfielder will not only miss tomorrow’s game against Espanyol but also be unavailable to take on Deportivo Alaves next week.

But Camavinga’s return to on-field training is a step in the right direction, and Ancelotti will be hoping to have the energetic French midfielder back in time for the derby.
