Court rules against suspension of La Liga president following Real Madrid complaint | OneFootball

Earlier in the summer, the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) opened Javier Tebas’ file over the complaint submitted by Real Madrid.

This led to speculation that Tebas could be suspended from his post as La Liga president, as TAD initially found the complaints quite serious and drastic.

TAD gives the final verdict

However, much to Real Madrid’s misfortune, TAD has officially dismissed the proposal to suspend La Liga president Javier Tebas, reports COPE.

The case centred around Tebas’ mishandling of the La Liga General Assembly meeting last year, where he failed to provide the required notice period.

Florentino Perez and Real Madrid raised concerns over the procedural error, highlighting that Tebas had summoned the assembly with only eight days’ notice instead of the mandatory ten.

This irregularity prompted the club to lodge a formal complaint, hoping to see disciplinary action taken against the La Liga president.

Despite the complaint gaining traction earlier this summer, the TAD ultimately decided against suspending Tebas.

Instead, the court closed the case with a formal reprimand for the La Liga president’s oversight in organizing the assembly.

Tebas’ actions were considered negligent but not severe enough to warrant a suspension, according to the court’s ruling.

This decision marks the end of what had become a contentious legal battle between Tebas and Real Madrid.

Tebas, a vocal critic of Real Madrid and Florentino Perez, has often clashed with the club’s leadership over a variety of issues.

He most recently pointed his guns at Vinicius Junior, urging him to ‘correct his behaviour’ despite the Real Madrid forward being a constant victim of racism across stadiums in Spain.
