One new Chelsea player is not here to be a bit part player according to one pundit reacting to this weeks Club World Cup win.

The news comes after Chelsea beat ES Tunis 3-0 over night in the Club World Cup in America after Blues head coach Enzo Maresca named a rotated starting Xl to rest a few players.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea make further checks on Portuguese international centre back!

Chelsea needed to avoid a defeat to progress to the knockout rounds of the competition, and they did that with ease in the end against an opposition that they were just much better than in terms of quality.

Marc Cucurella got a deserved rest in the game, with Josh Acheampong starting at left back instead, but before the game, the Spanish international was expecting another tough game. But it was far from that for Chelsea in the end.

Delap’s goal was a strikers goal

Liam Delap got his first Chelsea goal and how he took it was a fine strikers goal. Delap collected the ball, was strong to muscle the defender off, skipped it inside and curled a lovely little controlled shot into the corner of the goal.

Not here to be a bit part player

Pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has been raving about Delap after watching him vs ES Tunis this week.

On Delap, he said:

He’s going to score goals, I’ll guarantee you that. He’s not here to be a big part player. He’s at Chelsea to be the number one striker, and I really think he will.

“That’s what I like about him, is his strength. I watched him last year at Ipswich how strong he is, holdup play, hold defenders off. And even there, some strikers, maybe Jackson will hit it with the left it’s blocked. But he cut inside, guided into the corner.”
