The Swedish youngster has returned to full training following injury as Eintracht ramp up their preparations for Heidenheim. Robin Koch missed Thursday’s session through illness.

Hugo Larsson was back in training on Thursday morning after recovering from a thigh injury. Eighteen outfield players took part in the intense session alongside goalkeepers Kevin Trapp, Jens Grahl, Simon Simoni and Kauã Santos, as Eintracht step up their preparations for Saturday’s trip to Heidenheim. Hugo Ekitiké and Ellyes Skhiri trained away from the rest of the group, while Nacho Ferri is working his way back to fitness following injury. Robin Koch (illness) was also absent, as were Sasa Kalajdzic and Sebastian Rode.

“[We want to] train well and win in Heidenheim,” said Philipp Max after Sunday’s draw against Wolfsburg, when asked about Eintracht’s aims leading up to the Matchday 24 clash. “Confidence is something you have to earn yourself, even in training,” added sporting director Timmo Hardung. “It’s hugely important in a period like this, because you can address things in peace, prepare in isolation and improve.”

Next stop: Heidenheim

The Eagles leave for the Voith-Arena after their final training session on Friday, with kick-off at 15:30 CET the following day. Dino Toppmöller confirmed at Thursday’s press conference that Larsson is “highly likely” to return to the squad, although he “isn’t a candidate for the starting XI” in Heidenheim. “I’m talking to the fitness coaches later on,” added Toppmöller. “They’ll give us a clear recommendation regarding the amount of work he can do without suffering a relapse.”
