Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed to sell defender Tuta to Al Duhail in a deal worth around €15 million, as reported by Arquibancada Tricolor. The 26-year-old centre-back, who came through São Paulo’s youth system before moving to the Bundesliga in January 2019, will leave Germany following a five-year spell that included 187 appearances, ten goals, four assists and a Europa League title.

At the time of transfer discussions, Tuta’s contract with Frankfurt was set to expire in June 2026, meaning he could have signed a pre-contract with another club at the end of this year. While several European clubs registered interest, Frankfurt accepted Al Duhail’s proposal—a move that now sees paperwork in progress to finalize his departure.

São Paulo, Tuta’s formative club, stand to benefit from FIFA’s solidarity mechanism, receiving approximately 3% of the total transfer fee, equivalent to €450,000.

Tuta did not make a senior appearance for São Paulo before his transfer to Germany, instead featuring during the 2019 edition of the Copinha youth tournament. Despite missing out on a first-team run, his successful adaptation in Europe and subsequent transfer underscores the ongoing value of talent produced by the club’s academy.

Only formalities remain before the move to Qatar is confirmed, and São Paulo’s windfall—though modest in comparison to the overall transfer—continues the tradition of the club’s financially vital role as a talent exporter.
