Lazio sporting director Angelo Fabiani claims the club has every intention to keep Taty Castellanos for next season.
The Argentinian became the Aquile’s first-choice striker this season, following the departure of the legendary Ciro Immobile. Nevertheless, his campaign divided opinions among fans and observers. While many believe his 14-goal tally was insufficient, others will argue that the team’s attacking stats were abysmal in his absence.
In recent weeks, Castellanos has been linked with several clubs between England and Spain, including West Ham United, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton. Moreover, The Laziali journalist Alfredo Pedulla exclusively revealed that the management would be willing to listen to offers above €30 million.
Nevertheless, Fabiani told Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) that the club isn’t willing to part ways with the 26-year-old striker this summer, insisting that the player will certainly play his football under Maurizio Sarri’s tutelage next season.
Taty will 100% stay. He’s unsellable.
The Lazio sporting director also confirmed what we reported regarding Al-Hilal’s rejected offer for Nuno Tavares, reiterating the club’s desire to maintain their best players.
We have already rejected offers for Tavares. We are not selling any big names.
The Portuguese left-back has several suitors on the market, as his future in the Italian capital remains uncertain. In the meantime, Lazio are looking at several potential replacements, including Emerson Palmieri, Ben Chilwell and Aaron Martin.
