Loïc Désiré has already left his role as Head of Recruitment at RC Strasbourg Alsace to become the sporting director at Stade Rennais.
Désiré was brought in at Rennes to replace the outgoing Frédéric Massara, who lasted just one season at the Breton club. Désiré’s move away from Strasbourg was confirmed upon the conclusion of the Ligue 1 season.
A replacement is sought after, even if resources are somewhat pooled with BlueCo, with the club’s owners also owning Chelsea. As per a report from Mohamed Toubache-Ter, RC Lens’ Technical Director, Grégory Thil, is the favourite to replace Désiré at the Meinau. The Frenchman has been in the position at Lens since the end of 2022, having been promoted from Scout, to Chief Scout, and then to Technical Director.
Next season, Strasbourg will compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League after Liam Rosenior guided the club to a seventh-place finish in Ligue 1.
