Paulo Fonseca announced this afternoon that Francesco Camarda will get his first ever AC Milan start against Cagliari, and it could change the planning for the future.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport write, Camarda has already left an impression in the handful of minutes he has had off the bench this season, most notably with his disallowed goal in the Champions League win over Club Brugge.

The fact that he got game time last season against Fiorentina and Frosinone shows that – compared to those who are the same age as him – his path to regular senior football is a bit different and a lot shorter.

Having demonstrated not only that he can handle the pressure, but that he can carve out a leading role at 16 on a stage like that of the Champions League, it makes a bit of a difference and leaves an impression.

The management though will not change their thinking regardless of how it goes in Sardinia. Camarda will “only” be called in other circumstances when it will be necessary to beef up the attack, otherwise he will continue his journey with Milan Futuro.
