Fulham are not giving up on Scott McTominay.

The Manchester United midfielder has been the subject of interest from Fulham, Galatasaray and Napoli this summer.

With time remaining in the transfer window, a move remains a possibility for the Scotland international, who came off the bench in United’s 1-0 win over Fulham on Friday night.

Fulham are back at the table for McTominay, according to Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

Marco Silva identified McTominay as someone they wanted early in the transfer window, but have failed with two bids since then. It was thought that they would step away and pursue other targets as a result.

Those plans have changed it seems. The latest update suggests Fulham are still hopeful of signing McTominay this summer because they haven’t given up.

Fulham have thus far been unwilling to meet United’s £25-30m demands for McTominay.

Napoli response to McTominay links

Fulham’s rekindled interest in McTominay wasn’t the only update on the Scotland international this afternoon.

In response to reports in Italy suggesting that McTominay had contacted manager Antonio Conte about his desire to move on from United, Napoli director Giovanni Manna said (via Manchester Evening News): “McTominay and [Billy] Glimour are very good players… but they’re not our players so, no comment. Full focus on the game and then we will focus again on transfers.”

During the same interview, Manna told reporters that frustration was growing at the club due to Victor Osimhen not being sold. This means a move for McTomniay may not be plausible.

He added: “It’s an objective fact, what the coach said, the situation is blocked. Victor is an important player, with an important value and conditions. His desire is clear. We tried to maintain the integrity of the squad at this moment. We are not the only club in this situation and we’ll see what happens over the next 10 days. At this time, it is not right to say what sensations there are. We are working with his entourage to find the best solution. As we said, he is an important player, so it’s not that we can just find him anywhere. He is under contract for another two seasons, so clearly if we don’t find a solution by August 30, we’ll have to talk to the player.”
