One former Liverpool player has said Chelsea need to show flexibility in their transfer model to get success back to the club.
The news comes after The Blues thrashed Swedish side Djurgarden 4-1 away from home in the first leg of the Conference League semi-final on Thursday night in what was a very convincing performance for Enzo Maresca’s side.
Winger Noni Madueke played the first half and then was subbed off, but he grabbed a tidy little goal and had a terrific performance before doing so. His overall effect on the game was great.
Then in the second half Chelsea finished things off with two goals scored by striker Nicolas Jackson, who had just arrived onto the pitch at half time to play the second half of the game.

The Blues now face title winners Liverpool in their next Premier League match at 4.30pm this afternoon UK time, and the game has become massive in order for Chelsea to get Champions League qualification this season in the last four games.
Former Liverpool player Danny Murphy has been speaking on Chelsea’s Champions League chances in his latest piece in The Daily Mail, and he actually fancies their chances.
Murphy wrote:
“This Champions League race will go down to the wire. My feeling is Chelsea will just squeeze in, the beneficiaries of fifth place being good enough this season and a slump in form from Nottingham Forest, whom they meet on the final day at the City Ground.”
He also makes a really good point on Chelsea’s transfer activity and says it needs to be more flexible.
“Some of the younger Chelsea players will improve next season as they learn but I still don’t think the team can take a major step forward unless they show flexibility in their transfer model and bring in some experience to help the younger players. Kevin De Bruyne and Jamie Vardy are two obvious free agents but the top priorities are in goal and at centre half.”
