Bayern Munich and Chelsea are seeing their summer linked ever more closely.

The German giants have been strongly connected with a move for Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson in recent days, with various reports from some of the continent’s top insiders claiming the two sides are working towards a loan with a generous associated fee and an obligation to buy at the end of it.

But that’s not all – Florian Plettenberg has just dropped in with a new update about a Chelsea player that Bayern are interested in signing “in addition” to Jackson.

Bayern consider second Chelsea attacker as deadline closes in

Tyrique George linked with Bayern Munich move.

Sky Germany’s Plettenberg says that Bayern are looking for left sided options and have their eyes on Tyrique George. The young winger has been linked with both permanent and loan moves away already, with Roma and RB Leipzig both strongly linked at times. As a youth product, he doesn’t count towards our foreign loan totals.

The issue would be with Bayern – Plettenberg says a loan for George “would not be possible if Jackson also arrives on loan.” They would then be forced to sign the 19 year old, which may not be possible given the “costly package” that he mentions.

Chelsea may have to make tough decisions over attacker moves

Overall, it looks unlikely that both of these moves happen. Right now Jackson looks likely to complete that loan move, and that apparently rules out a loan for George. He’s just a higher priority move for both clubs. George has enough other interest to get a move either way.

Many Chelsea fans would rather see the academy product kept at Stamford Bridge, but it seems like his fate is already decided and he will be sacrificed to the gods of the balance sheet -what a pity.
