Despite finishing on top of the Europa League group-stage table, Lazio collected less cash in prize money than three other clubs.
The Biancocelesti enjoyed a sensational group-stage campaign, winning six of their first seven contests. Their impressive victim list includes the likes of OGC Nice, Porto, Ajax and Real Sociedad. The Italians ended their first stage of the tournament with an away defeat to Braga which did them little harm.
But according to Football Meets Data, Manchester United (who finished third in the table) earned more in prize money than any other club, collecting €22.7 million from the group stage. Fellow Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur are right behind with €21.7 million, while Eintracht Frankfurt completed the podium with €20.475, marginally ahead of Lazio in fourth place (€20.469).
Having finished on top of the 36-club table, Lazio earned more in terms of points and placement money than any other side. However, the three aforementioned clubs received more cash overall thanks to their superior coefficient and/or market-pool money.
Olympique Lyonnais rounded off the Top 5, finishing ahead of Olympiakos and Ajax, while Roma landed eighth having earned €18.8 from their participation. The Giallorossi finished 15th in the actual Europa League table, and must now earn their place in the Round of 16 by beating Porto in the play-off round.
