After Eddie Howe snubbed England, interesting to look at the position now with the 20 Premier League managers.

Five of the 20 Premier League clubs kicked off the 2024/25 season with new team bosses in charge.

Whilst 11 of the 20 Premier League managers have been in these jobs for one season or less.

As you can see, those last five Premier League managers listed, all just started their jobs this season.

Eight games in and nobody has been sacked, yet…

In the grand scheme of things with Premier League managers, Eddie Howe now occupying an astonishing position.

Currently, only four managers in the top tier have been at their clubs longer than Eddie Howe has been at Newcastle United.

The former Bournemouth boss becoming Newcastle United manager on 8 November 2021, that is two years and 348 days ago now.

Reality is as well, neither Thomas Frank nor Marco Silva were appointed as Premier League managers at their current clubs, at the time both Brentford and Fulham were second tier.

So taking all that into consideration, bosses who were appointed as Premier League managers at their current clubs.

Only Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta are ahead of Eddie Howe as having been appointed at Premier League clubs.

Pep Guardiola is set to be out if contract in summer 2025 as things stand and no surprise now if he does move on.

That would leave only Mikel Arteta standing in the way of Eddie Howe becoming last man standing amongst Premier League managers.

Will he be given the backing and allowed the time to build a long-term Eddie Howe project at St James’ Park?

This looks like a massive 2024/25 season ahead for Newcastle United, where are we heading and who will be in charge when the 2025/26 season kicks off?
