As Bayern Munich prepare for their Club World Cup clash with Boca Juniors, board member for sport Max Eberl has quietly departed the team’s training camp in Florida.

According to Sky Germany, Eberl returned to Munich midweek to handle urgent squad planning at Säbener Straße.

With Leroy Sané moving to Galatasaray as a free agent and top target Nico Williams on the verge of joining Barcelona, Bayern find themselves in serious need of a new winger.

Bradley Barcola is reportedly at the top of the shortlist. The Bavarians are said to be in contact with the Paris Saint-Germain winger’s representatives, but it's uncertain if the player is open to a move - and, in that case, if PSG would even consider letting him go.

Rafael Leão has also been discussed, although talks have not progressed into anything concrete.

Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo, Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma, and Freiburg’s Ritsu Doan have also been touted as candidates.

Eberl is expected to rejoin the squad in the U.S. ahead of Saturday’s Club World Cup group match against Boca Juniors, which kicks off at 3:00 AM CET.
