Roma star Paulo Dybala reacts to Daniele De Rossi’s sacking on social media: ‘Football is often unfair.’
Roma suddenly sacked De Rossi on Wednesday morning, with the Giallorossi still winless in four Serie A games this season.
The former midfielder replaced José Mourinho in January 2024, and his convincing results in the second half of the season prompted the club to extend his contract for three more years.
Italy internationals Gianluca Mancini, Stephan El Shaarawy and Bryan Cristante sent social media messages to their ex-coach on Wednesday night, and their teammate Dybala did the same on Thursday.
“Mister, we didn’t spend many months together, but they were enough to pass on to us many things on a human and sporting level,” the Argentinean wrote on Instagram.
“Football is often unfair. Thanks for everything. I wish you the best for the future.”
Roma have already confirmed Ivan Juric’s appointment as their new head coach. The former Torino boss has signed a contract until the end of the season.
Roma’s next Serie A game is against table leaders Udinese at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, September 22.
