Former Rangers forward Duncan Ferguson had a reputation as an aggressive player who occasionally toed the line.
However, after headbutting in Jock McStay when playing against Raith Rovers in 1994, few would have predicted a fallout that led to Ferguson's conviction for assault whilst already on probation for former offences.
The former Scotland international explained how a spectator watching the incident on television started the events that led to his three-month prison sentence in October 1995.
Following his release, Ferguson went on to have a respectable career, making over 200 Premier League appearances for Everton.
