Done deal: Luigi Cherubini renews Roma contract until 2027 | OneFootball

Luigi Cherubini is set to remain at Roma.

The Primavera captain, whose contract has expired, has reached an agreement with the Giallorossi club and will continue to play for these colours, reports Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport.

The negotiation for the renewal was long and complex, first Juventus and then Milan attempted to sign the player, confirming the qualities that the striker (now no longer a boy) had demonstrated in his long experience with the Roma Primavera.

Cherubini, already 20 years old, is now ready for the big leap with the big boys under the guidance of Daniele De Rossi.

The idea is that in De Rossi’s 4-3-3 the Giallorossi winger can make the big leap.

Roma, after a rather long back and forth, finally decided to keep their young captain: he will renew his contract until 2027.

The doors of the first team will be open for Cherubini: he will join the senior team in training camp and will be evaluated directly by De Rossi.

Then the coach and the club will decide what to do, and that is whether to keep the winger and let him grow with Dybala and his teammates or to loan him out to let him learn his skills at a smaller club.
