“The facts speak clearly between goals scored and goals missed. We will surely see what to do to improve the attack.”

“The penalty that was called off against Atalanta? There have been similar errors both in Italy and in the Champions League. I don’t argue whether it’s a penalty or not, I argue when it’s clear and evident: in other circumstances the VAR didn’t intervene.”

“Saelemaekers? With Soulé’s improvement and the injury of Dybala I saw that he was no longer the same and I tried to change something, but Alexis is always in my mind. He is a player I like.”

“We have two upcoming transfer windows where we will be restricted, we will try to make as few mistakes as possible. Many times the strongest team does not win, but the one who has managed to build something over a longer period of time.”

“Atalanta was formed in 9 years. We have to follow their model and improve, we have started to build the foundations. Over time we will build a team that will make the fans proud.”

“Qualifying to Europe is important for me as a coach, for how I took over the team, for what we did. Then it is also important for the club.”

“We never spoke about selling our best players.  The media talked about it, not us at the club. The market is open to any situation. What we have built this year is important. It is a team that helps each other. We cannot make mistakes with our signings in this offseason.”

“Bove’s birthday? You don’t know, but some years ago, when I was at Cagliari, I asked Mourinho if I could have him and he said, ‘no, I’ll keep him here.’ I wish him well, he’s a wonderful boy, I don’t know him but from the interviews you can understand what intelligence he has and what kind of man he is.”

“Why are Hummels and Paredes not playing? If you look at the nine games they didn’t feature in, what have we done? We won, that’s what.”
