Sheffield United announced that veteran goalkeeper Adam Davies has penned a two-year contract extension with the Blades. The Welsh international featured just once in all competitions last season, that came in the Carabao cup penalty shootout defeat to Lincoln City.

Since signing for United on a free transfer from Stoke City back in January 2022 Davies has made a total of 11 appearances in competitive fixtures, managing to keep four clean sheets in the process.

Chris Wilder is delighted to finally get a contract extension over the line, he stated: “Of course, we know Adam and his attributes very well. He’s a popular member of the dressing room and will provide healthy competition in the goalkeeping department.”

Davies will once again look to push Sheffield United’s first choice goalkeeper, which is still yet to be decided after Wes Foderingham’s recent departure to West Ham United following the expiration of his Blades contract.
