Brazil Star Insists ‘The Past Is Past’ For Inter Milan Ahead Of FIFA Club World Cup Opener Vs Monterrey

Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto says that “the past is the past” ahead of today’s Club World Cup group stage opener against Monterrey.
The Brazilian spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, ahead of the match.
Inter Milan take on Monterrey today in the Club World Cup.
Today’s match will be the start of a new era in several respects for the Nerazzurri.
Less than three weeks ago, Inter were playing in the Club World Cup final. They took on Paris Saint-Germain.
However, that match ended in a chastening 5-0 defeat for the Nerazzurri.
Then, just a couple of days later, Inter lost their coach Simone Inzaghi. The 49-year-old decided to leave in order to accept a big money contract with Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal.
Inter then moved quickly to replace Inzaghi with former defender Cristian Chivu.
Therefore, the Romanian has been working quickly to get the team ready for an entirely new competition. The expanded format of the Club World Cup.

Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto gave his thoughts ahead of today’s match against Monterrey.
“We’re doing alright,” said the Brazilian. “We know that this is a new competition.”
“We have to learn from what we did wrong in the past,” Augusto admitted.
“But the past is the past,” he made clear.
“Now we’re doing well,” Augusto then insisted. “We have a new coaching staff, and we’re in a good frame of mind to face a new competition.”
The 26-year-old made clear that “Inter have to always play to win. And we’ll do so.”
