Sport Bild reports that Borussia Dortmund’s Sebastien Haller is on the verge of moving to FC Utrecht permanently. The German tabloid claims that the Ivorian striker and his Bundesliga club have mutually agreed to terminate his BVB contract in order to facilitate the move. Dortmund will, per the Sport Bild report, pay Haller €2m in severance fees.

Kicker confirms the report, yet emphasizes that ongoing negotiations are likely to stretch out over several days. Haller – who currently draws a €10m annual BVB salary – must agree to take a significant pay cut in order to join the Eredivisie outfit. Moreover, Dortmund may not be prepared to simply cut their losses with respect to a player they once paid €31m for.

The Ruhr Nachrichten newspaper effectively confirms Kicker’s report, noting that no agreement has been reached yet. Haller enters the final year of his BVB contract and was actually loaned out twice last year. A season-long loan deal with CD Leganés was cut short in January. The 31-year-old was subsequently loaned out to Utrecht, where he scored six goals in 18 appearances across all competitions.
