There’s a chance Christopher Nkunku could end up staying at Chelsea this summer according to BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella.
Nkunku was part of the squad which won the Club World Cup, and he came on as a second half substitute in the final against Paris Saint Germain.
The France international featured in six of Chelsea’s seven games, with three of those coming as starts, and he featured far more regularly than many would have expected.
Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023 in a deal worth £52m, much to the excitement of supporters.
However, his time at Stamford Bridge has been plagued by injuries, and he struggled to make an impact last season.
The France international scored just three goals in 27 Premier League appearances last season, and is expected to leave this summer.

Nkunku is attracting interest from Bayern Munich, with the German giants also showing an interest back in January.
It’s believed Manchester United have been quoted £35m to sign Nkunku, whilst there’s also been an enquiry from Saudi Arabia.
The expectation is Nkunku leaves, but in a Q & A on BBC Sport Kinsella revealed the 27-year-old could end up staying.

“They may sell a few players that were in Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad that travelled to the United States, with Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson and Trevoh Chalobah among those who could be allowed to leave for the right offer.
“But equally, those kinds of players could end up staying.”
Whilst there’s a possibility Nkunku could end up staying, the same can’t be send for Felix, who’s heading to the exit door.
Felix joined last summer for £45m from Atletico Madrid, but spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan due to limited opportunities.
The Portugal international has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, but he’s expressed his desire to return to Benfica, with Chelsea reportedly in negotiations with the Portuguese giants.
