According to a recent report by MARCA, it has been learned that Barcelona full-back Gerard Martin is not considering an exit this summer, despite receiving interest from Premier League clubs.

The young defender remains committed to the Catalan club and is determined to continue fighting for his place under Hansi Flick.

Barcelona happy with the current options

It is said that Barcelona currently seem content with their full-back options, both on the right and the left.

On one side, Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia and Hector Fort are providing reliable cover, while on the left, Alejandro Balde and Gerard Martin are enjoying strong competition for minutes.

Flick appreciates Martin’s versatility, having used him effectively on both wings, and sees no immediate need to bring in a new signing, provided no one departs.

Despite the 23-year-old’s firm intention to stay, Premier League clubs continue to circle. Bournemouth have now joined Wolves in expressing interest in the defender, whose playing style reportedly fits their profile well.

Still, Martin, who recently sustained a hand fracture while on international duty, is clear in his stance: he wants to remain at Barcelona for at least another season.

Barcelona value him at €12 million

Barcelona, on their end, are willing to listen to offers for Martin, but only starting at €12 million. This valuation would allow the club to explore replacement options should the defender eventually leave.

One name being considered is Alejandro Grimaldo, a former La Masia product. The Spanish international reportedly has a clause in his contract that would allow him to return to La Liga for a reasonable fee.

For now, Martin remains focused on proving his worth under Hansi Flick.

With the German manager giving him increasing responsibilities, the defender is confident that another season at Barcelona will further solidify his place in the squad.
