A fresh insight into the efforts of Liverpool star Luis Díaz to engineer a move to Spain with Barcelona has on Friday come to the fore online.

The info comes courtesy of Mundo Deportivo, and reiterates that the Colombian is doing his utmost to secure a Blaugrana switch.

It is of course common knowledge at this point that Díaz has been earmarked as the first-choice attacking target on the part of Deco and the Camp Nou brass this summer.

The 28-year-old, owing chiefly to his direct profile, is considered the ideal addition to Hansi Flick’s ranks in the final third.

To date, Liverpool have not opened to a sale, eager to keep hold of a key member of Arne Slot’s Premier League-winning squad.

But the Reds appear to face a tough task in holding out for the entirety of the summer.

This comes amid confirmation that Díaz has rejected approaches by way of the Saudi Pro League, with his sole focus on securing a dream move to the Camp Nou over the months ahead:

‘According to sources close to the player, Luis Díaz, who is also coveted in Arabia, is clear that if he leaves Liverpool it will only be to go to Barça. The Colombian, like his father, has always followed the Catalan club.’
