A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week made clear his frustrations with the lack of minutes afforded to him this past season.
The player in question? Pablo Torre.
Youngster Torre for his part endured something of an underwhelming campaign in Catalunya’s capital in 2024/25.
After returning to base with Barcelona following a season on loan with Girona, the 22-year-old struggled to carve out a regular place for himself in the engine room setup of boss Hansi Flick.
Amid fierce competition for places, Torre was afforded just 14 appearances across all competitions.
And yet, when handed the chance to impress, the Spaniard did precisely that, boasting more direct goal contributions (7) than starts (5).
In turn, it should perhaps not come as a major surprise to hear that Torre, for his part, was left feeling hard done by on the part of the Barca coaching staff.
Drawn on his lack of game time during an interview with Diario Sport (as cited by COPE), on Thursday, the midfield starlet made use of the opportunity to question boss Hansi Flick:
“I respect Flick’s decisions, but I think he hasn’t been fair to me. I think I could have played many more minutes, I think I earned them.”
Pressed on his future beyond the summer, Torre continued:
“We’ll see what happens. Right now, I’m focused on the U21 European Championship.”
