The recent efforts of La Liga champions Barcelona on the transfer front could have a direct impact on arch rivals Real Madrid.
That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Saturday provided an insight into the situation.
The brass at Barcelona have of course spent recent days with their full focus on securing reinforcements in the attacking third.
Specifically, the Blaugrana are pushing to bring in Nico Williams from Athletic Club, a player who is himself more than keen to make the move to Catalunya’s capital.
With the transfer ultimately expected to come to fruition, the aforementioned Real Madrid, in turn, look set to see one of their own attacking stars come back under the microscope.
As per a report from AS, Premier League heavyweights Arsenal were also more than keen to bring in Nico from Athletic for next season.
Aware that as much is now all but ruled out, the Gunners, in turn, have turned attentions back towards Real Madrid wide-man Rodrygo:
‘Barcelona’s strong bid to sign Nico Williams changes Arsenal’s plans, who had the Athletic Club winger on their radar. And after that disappointment, the Gunners’ eyes are now on Madrid and, specifically, on Rodrygo.’
