Fans of La Liga giants Barcelona have on Sunday evening called for a particular member of the club’s midfield ranks to be afforded another starting berth in the Champions League during the week.

The player in question? Dani Olmo.

Barcelona were of course back in action a short time ago, welcoming Real Sociedad to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a dominant 4-0 result, to take back leadership of the Spanish top-flight.

And, en route to as much, the aforementioned Dani Olmo played a starring role.

En route to Man of the Match honours, Barca’s summer signing shone from his attacking berth behind Robert Lewandowski, linking midfield to attack with poise and quality.

As much culminated in Olmo bagging the assists for each of the hosts’ first two goals.

And such excellence, as alluded to above, did not go at all unappreciated on the part of the Barcelona faithful.

With boss Hansi Flick having frequently rotated Olmo in and out of his XI over recent weeks, the Blaugrana’s fans have taken to social media in numbers, to call for the Spanish international to remain a starter against Benfica on Wednesday.
