According to the latest reports, Mario Balotelli is discussing the possibility of terminating his contract with Genoa early, but another Serie A side is interested.

The veteran Italy international returned to the Peninsula on October 28, 2024 as a free agent, seeing as his deal with Adana Demirspor had been allowed to run down on July 1.

At the time, the coach of Genoa was Alberto Gilardino, but he was sacked a few days later to make way for Patrick Vieira, who already has a history with Balotelli.

SuperMario made six Serie A appearances for Genoa, all of them brief cameos off the bench for a grand total of just 56 minutes of football.

According to Calciomercato.com, he is increasingly frustrated at the lack of playing time and is currently negotiating a possible termination by mutual consent.

This would make Balotelli a free agent again and he could remain in Serie A with rock bottom Monza, a club he already represented from December 2020 to July 2021.

He made a good impression at Monza, scoring six goals in 14 Serie A appearances, along with one assist.

The same source also reports that Serie B side Bari made an approach, but the 34-year-old is determined to remain in the top flight.
