Derby County have an incredible track-record of bringing through young stars that go on to make a name for themselves in both the Premier League and the EFL.

Dajaune Brown, Eiran Cashin and Liam Thompson are just three players making a name for themselves in the first team right now, while the likes of Jason Knight, Louie Sibley and Max Bird have all moved on to other Championship clubs in the last year-and-a-half.

There is plenty of talent emerging at Moor Farm once again after a quiet few years due to administration, and five years after they won the U18s Premier League, the Rams are looking as though they will be able to challenge once again in the coming seasons.

Verdict made on Derby's hottest prospect

Both Derby's Under-18 and Under-21 teams are recovering well following a difficult few years, with the former flying in the U18 Premier League, while they also ran out 4-1 winners over Sunderland in the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday at Pride Park.

There is a lot of excitement surrounding the future of the club, and supporters will already be picking out different players to watch out for in the coming years.

Football League World has asked their Derby Fan Pundit, Shaun Woodward, which Rams player he believes is the best prospect.

He told FLW: "Derby have some real talent coming through in the Under-18s at the moment, you've just got to look at their stats for the season. They've beaten some big academies, some big U18 teams, and they're scoring goals for fun, so I'll be keeping an eye out for the U18 crop coming through because they do look like a seriously talented bunch.

"I could probably pick two or three, especially out of the attacking players who I'm really excited to see develop. But for me, the main one is Charles Ebuka Agbawodikeizu. I think he's got like 10 goals this season already, and he's averaging a goal every 40 minutes, so he's a real talent to look out for in the future."

Shaun continued: "I think Derby need to nail these players down to contracts as soon as possible because some of these could go on to be real talents, a bit like when we had Delap and a few of the other boys that we sadly let go of during the administration time.

"We don't want to get caught in that situation again where we let our best players go for peanuts. So, I think we really do need to tie these players down to contracts."

Agbawodikeizu is not the only talent emerging

While Adbawodikeizu has plenty of talent, he is not the only player coming out of Moor Farm that Rams fans should be excited about seeing.

Lennon Wheeldon, who is currently out on loan at Boston United in the National League, has already shown his prowess up front, and has featured for the U21s four times this season already, despite being just 18.

Cruz Allen is another player destined for the first team in the coming seasons, playing beyond his years in the U21s at 17. He scored twice and picked up an assist in his team's 4-1 win against West Bromwich Albion in November, and he plays a crucial role in picking the ball up from midfield before carrying it forwards.

The future is extremely bright at Derby, and the likes of Agbawodikeizu will help save the club millions in transfer fees as they look to maintain their position in the Championship, and push on in the next few years.
