Chelsea are looking to sell multiple players this month as they cash in on investments made in youngsters in the last couple of years.
Cesare Casadei, who was bought for less than €15m, looks like he will be sold to one of a number of interested teams from Serie A for significantly more than we paid for him. But Chelsea aren’t going to just let that money sit in their bank account. In fact, it seems a lot like they’re already got a replacement in mind.
CaughtOffside today report on interest in another midfield talent from Italy – in this case Reda Belahyane from Hellas Verona. The 20 year old is developing into one of the top young starlets in Serie A, featuring as a regular number 6 for Verona and picking up 2 assists in the process this season.
He’s not a wonderkid hyped up before he ever set foot in a men’s game – he’s earning his reputation with strong performances at a high level. After coming through at Nice, he took the risk of moving to Italy and it’s paid off as he’s become a Serie A regular.

TransferMarkt rate him as valued at just €10m, but that seems absurdly low given his talent and experience for his young age. If he keeps playing – and keeps playing well – that number will shoot up.
If Chelsea are interested in him, we can see this being a very easy money making opportunity. Even if he costs them double the valuation at €20m, he could just be loaned back to Verona to continue building his value there, and a profit on that fee wouldn’t be difficult at all, especially now he’s got his first senior Morocco cap.
