Newcastle United are aiming to get back to winning ways this Saturday when they travel to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

The Magpies had been on an eight-game unbeaten run following a poor start to the season but fell to a disappointing 1-0 Champions League defeat to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday evening. Eddie Howe's side were unable to find a response to Felix Nmecha's beautiful strike, condemning them to a first European loss of the campaign.

Wolves, buoyed by two wins in their last three league matches against Manchester City and most recently Bournemouth, will be looking to take advantage of any fatigue in the Newcastle ranks. Gary O'Neil got one over on his old side last weekend thanks to Sasa Kalajdzic's 88th-minute winner, but the visit of Newcastle will prove a sterner test.

Here is all you need to know ahead of Newcastle's trip to Wolves in this Saturday's late kick-off.

  • Location: Wolverhampton, England

  • Date: Saturday 28 October
  • Kick-off Time: 17:30 BST / 12:30 ET / 09:30 PT

Wolves team news

O'Neil has a relatively clean bill of health going into Saturday's clash with only two injury concerns. The first is Jean-Ricner Bellegarde who missed last weekend's trip to Bournemouth due to a muscle injury. However, the midfielder could be in line for a return against Newcastle.

The second is young full-back Hugo Bueno who will definitely be missing for the Old Gold with a knee injury sustained in late September.

The positive news for Wolves is they welcome two players back from suspension. Mario Lemina has served his one-game ban after being sent off for two yellow cards against Aston Villa, while Nelson Semedo will also return after picking up five bookings.

Wolves predicted lineup vs Newcastle (5-2-3): Sa; Semedo, Dawson, Kilman, Toti, Ait-Nouri; Lemina, Joao Gomes; Neto, Cunha, Hee-chan.

Not only did Newcastle suffer defeat on Wednesday evening, they also lost two players through injury. Alexander Isak is the main concern, substituted after just 15 minutes against Dortmund with a recurrence of a groin injury that will keep him out this weekend.

Jacob Murphy was also a casualty of the midweek clash, coming off with a suspected dislocated shoulder having only been substituted on five minutes earlier. Depending on the severity of the injury, Murphy could be looking at a long spell on the sidelines.

Elliot Anderson is also sidelined with a back injury that is set to keep him out for several weeks, while Sven Botman and Harvey Barnes remain out for the Magpies.

Newcastle predicted lineup vs Wolves (4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Lascelles, Schar, Burn; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Almiron, Wilson, Gordon.

Wolves vs Newcastle score prediction

Wolves' improved form in recent weeks shows they can cause Newcastle some issues this Saturday, especially with the Magpies' extra workload in midweek. However, Howe's men have been in devastating form themselves, with last weekend's 4-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace the perfect example.

The Toon Army should bounce back from an underwhelming midweek performance with a victory at Molineux, with Wolves having won just the one home game this season.
