Well, not sure who asked you for your opinion, but thanks for that Lee.

Zero surprise that former Manchester United player Lee Sharpe, would love to see Alexander Isak sign for Manchester United.

A bit of a theme isn’t there, other clubs’ former players, saying how they would love to see their old club buying one of Newcastle United’s best players.

I suppose we should really take it as a compliment, as Lee Sharpe can’t exactly talk about clubs queuing up to buy Marcus Rashford from Man U, can he? Nor Antony, who Manchester United paid £85m for and they can’t even give away, he has now joined Real Betis on loan with Man U reportedly still having to pay 84% of his wages.

Same when we have countless ex-Arsenal players boring us to death with how they’d love to see Alexander Isak sign for the Gunners. Not exactly any top clubs desperate to sign the likes of Gabriel Jesus.

Lee Sharpe does actually admit in the end that Alexander Isak COULD still be at Newcastle United next season.

The former Man U player saying that it is likely to depend on Newcastle United delivering Champions League football.

This is the reality for all clubs isn’t it.

Top players want to play in the top competitions.

There are other reasons that contribute to why a player might help to be convinced to stay at a club, or sign for them in the first place, but it makes it a far easier job if your team/club looks on the up and can satisfy a quality player’s ambitions.

Lee Sharpe talking to Texas Poker about Alexander Isak and Newcastle United:

“I can’t see Alexander Isak being at Newcastle United at the start of next season.

“He’s had a brilliant season so far and is arguably the best striker in the Premier League.

“There’s no doubt he will be one of the most sought-after players in the world in summer.

“I’d love to see him at Manchester United, though they look highly unlikely to be in Europe next season so it’s hard to see him going there.

“He won’t be at Manchester City, after they tied down Erling Haaland to a long-term deal.

“I can see either Arsenal or Liverpool as the likeliest and best destination for him. I think Liverpool would be a great move for him and he could replace the output that they may lose if Mohamed Salah were to leave.

“That said, Newcastle United are a massive club who can still finish top four and will likely secure a European spot, they’ve got a huge and loyal fanbase which any player would love to play in front of.
